Santas by David Frykman.
Frykman spent 10 years as a potter, but an ice carving
contest convinced him to convert to a more rigid
medium—wood. As a woodcarver, David searches for "what's
inside the wood—the life within waiting to be released."
The whimsical face that has become his trademark is said
to really be his own caricature.
Today, David makes his creations in scenic Door County,
Wisconsin, where he lives on the shores of Lake
Michigan. His home also allows him to enjoy fishing—one
of his other greatest pleasures besides woodcarving and
art. |
