Pipka
Santas
one of
the most collectible lines of Santas for years due to
the extremely fine detail Pipka and her sculptor puts
into each Santa. Most large pieces are limited in
quantities or limited by the year released to ensure
uniqueness and maintain collector interest. Pipka
Santa figurines now come in all sizes as well as several
ornaments and various lines of snowmen, nativity
figurines and more. Typically each masterpiece
starts out as an 11" figurine for a year or two and is
later released in more readily available, smaller
figurines; 6 inch, then 4 inch and sometimes even
miniature Santa figurines. Regardless, there is no
loss in quality or detail in any size figurine from
Pipka.
Pipka was born in Germany and came to America with her
parents and brother after World War II. She celebrates
Christmas and life all year round by designing her
European inspired Santas and angels. Pipka shares her
passion for folk art by teaching her painting techniques
and reciting the stories of the rich traditions of
Father Christmas to students and Christmas enthusiasts
throughout the world. Pipka starts with wonderful
artwork in the form of colorful paintings and sketches
then the art takes shape in sculptor's clay. A mold is
then poured and the figurine comes to life as a cold
cast resin piece with artisans carefully hand painting
every detail. |
